Quantum Series Simcoe® Hop Extract, 1 mL Syringe

Quantum Series Simcoe® offers the bold combination of tropical fruit, pine, dank resin and distinctive blackcurrant-like character that has made Simcoe a favourite in American craft beer. This pre-measured 1 mL syringe is a convenient way to boost hop aroma in West Coast IPAs, hazy IPAs, pale ales, amber ales and modern lagers.

Suggested dosage

• Use 1 mL in 19 L for a light, controlled Simcoe aroma boost
• Start around 1.25 to 2 mL for a noticeable tropical and pine profile
• Use 2 to 4.8 mL for assertive IPAs, adjusting after a bench trial
• One 1 mL syringe has roughly the aroma potential of 30 g of T90 hops

Best practices

Add during the normal dry-hop stage, after fermentation or directly to a purged keg. Quantum Simcoe does not provide recipe bitterness, so continue using kettle hops to reach your target IBUs. Protect the finished beer from oxygen, gently mix and allow three to five days for complete integration. Simcoe pairs especially well with Amarillo, Citra and Mosaic, and can also be used alongside a reduced Simcoe pellet addition for a fuller hop profile.
