Originating from Germany, Magnum is a high-alpha hop variety valued primarily for its clean and smooth bittering qualities. It imparts minimal aroma, making it a popular choice as a base bittering hop.  These hops have some subtle citrusy and spicy notes, but these are usually not prominent in the finished beer when used as a bittering hop.

Magnum hops have a high alpha acid content, typically ranging between 12% and 16%.

Magnum hops are versatile and can be used as a bittering hop in a wide range of beer styles such as as IPA's, Pale Ales, Lagers, Pilsners, Stouts and Porters.
